Summary:
Our client is a leading wholesale provider specializing in industrial personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection products such as rope, cordage and strapping. They supply high-quality safety gear to distributors across the United States, ensuring workers in various industries are well-equipped to perform their jobs safely. As an Outside Sales Manager, you will generate new client opportunities and expand existing customer relationships within the specific markets, focusing on achieving product and service sales goals while satisfying client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and cultivate a defined selling territory and target market prospects, focusing on acquiring orders from new accounts.
- Deepen and maintain existing client relationships within your selling territory.
- Follow and utilize established sales systems and prospect development processes.
- Identify proper prospect buying influences, assess site challenges, and provide tailored solutions.
- Achieve daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly activity and revenue objectives.
- Collaborate with management in the development of your annual sales plan.
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with all team members to ensure consistent and effective client delivery.
- Build a professional network by participating in relevant organizations and events, fostering opportunities and generating referral sources.
- Pursue personal and professional growth through industry-related seminars, workshops, and organizations.
- Complete and present daily and weekly pipeline reports in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of successful outside sales experience, preferred.
- At least three years of proven experience in PPE, cordage and strapping products.
- Strong understanding and application of consultative selling techniques.
- A sales and results-driven mindset.
- Ability to maintain reports on quotas, prospective customers, and other relevant data.
- Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Mechanical background is a plus.
- Effective problem-solving skills and experience in dealing with prospects and clients.
- Well-organized, self-directed individual who is a team player.
- Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative, with high ethical standards and a professional image.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to relate to people at all levels within an organization and across diverse cultures.
