Title: NDT Quality Manager
Location: Dover, NJ (Onsite)
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 base + 10% bonus
Work Requirements: US Citizen, Green Card Holders, or Authorized to Work in the US.
Summary
We are seeking a hands-on NDT Quality Manager to lead and standardize the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) function within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This position requires deep NDT expertise combined with strong leadership capability to build structure, reduce variation, and drive accountability across all NDT processes. The ideal candidate will bring experience in aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing environments and will be comfortable standing firm on quality decisions while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Set goals and build structure for the NDT department
- Standardize processes across all NDT methods (VT, UT, FPI/PT, RT/DR, CT, CVM)
- Develop and manage structured training plans for Level I, II, and III inspectors
- Drive consistency in inspection methods and reduce variation
- Lead CAPA, FMEA, PPAP, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support internal and external audits and maintain compliance with AS9100 and customer standards
- Monitor quality metrics and productivity trends; reduce rework and scrap
- Implement new NDT equipment and formalize process controls
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and customers
- Lead recurring team meetings to track training, performance, and improvement initiatives
- Mentor and develop direct reports with succession planning in mind
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
- Minimum 3 years leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing methods
- Experience in CAPA, FMEA, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis
- Ability to build process structure and lead change
- Comfortable making tough quality decisions
Preferred
- Aerospace / AS9100 environment
- ASNT Level III or Responsible Level III experience
- Experience with CT and Digital Radiography implementation
