Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Manager, SEO to lead organic search strategy for a large enterprise digital platform supporting over 1,600 locations and millions of webpages across North America. This role is responsible for driving SEO strategy, prioritizing initiatives, and ensuring successful execution across technical, content, and local search programs. The Senior Manager will oversee a small SEO team and work closely with engineering, product, marketing, and content teams to improve search visibility, increase qualified organic traffic, and support lead generation for both immediate need and pre-planning services. This position is both strategic and hands-on, requiring someone who can build and execute SEO roadmaps, translate data into business insights, and ensure SEO best practices are integrated across the company’s digital ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the enterprise SEO strategy across technical SEO, content optimization, local search, and AI-driven search visibility.
- Develop SEO roadmaps aligned with company growth objectives and organic traffic goals.
- Translate business priorities into actionable SEO initiatives that improve search visibility and lead generation.
- Establish SEO governance standards to ensure consistent optimization across all digital properties.
- Partner with engineering, product, and content teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into digital development and releases.
- Coordinate initiatives across teams to ensure SEO projects move from concept to implementation.
- Lead and mentor internal SEO team members responsible for technical SEO and content optimization.
- Develop SEO reporting frameworks and dashboards using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, and Semrush.
- Monitor organic search performance and identify opportunities to improve rankings, engagement, and conversion.
- Present SEO insights, strategy updates, and performance results to marketing leadership and executives.
- Oversee optimization strategies for location pages, obituary pages, and educational content.
- Guide keyword strategy, metadata optimization, and content improvements that align with search intent.
- Drive local search visibility and map pack performance across 2,000+ business locations.
- Oversee site health, crawlability, indexation, structured data implementation, and Core Web Vitals performance.
- Partner with technical teams to resolve SEO issues impacting site performance and search rankings.
- Support multilingual SEO initiatives, including hreflang implementation and translated content optimization.
- Manage relationships with SEO technology vendors and evaluate new tools to support performance and reporting.
- Standardize SEO workflows, processes, and documentation across the organization.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of SEO experience, preferably within enterprise or large-scale website environments.
- Experience managing SEO strategy for websites with 1M+ URLs or large multi-location platforms.
- Proven success driving measurable organic growth through technical SEO, content optimization, and local search strategies.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO concepts, including crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, and Core Web Vitals.
- Experience with multilingual SEO and international search optimization (hreflang, metadata translation, canonical structures).
- Proficiency with SEO and analytics tools including Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Semrush.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, product, marketing, and content teams.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to translate SEO insights into business outcomes.
