Title: QA Inspector (Incoming Quality)
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite – 5 days/week)
Duration: 3-Month Contract (Likely Extension / Possible Conversion)
Work Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation: 20-25/hr
Summary
We’re working with a growing medical device manufacturer looking to add a QA Inspector focused on incoming quality control. This role supports inspection of raw materials and precision components before they enter production. This is a detail-heavy, precision-focused role working with small components like PCBs and micro parts. It’s a strong opportunity for someone looking to get into or grow within a regulated, high-quality manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform incoming inspections on raw materials and components prior to production
- Inspect mechanical and electronic components against drawings, specs, and acceptance criteria
- Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, and optical equipment
- Identify defects using visual and precision inspection methods
- Accept or reject materials based on quality standards
- Document inspection results accurately in logs and systems
- Identify and quarantine nonconforming materials
- Support corrective actions and quality investigations
- Maintain inspection records and controlled documentation
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ year of QA or inspection experience
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ability to read drawings, specs, and inspection criteria
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
- Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing (ISO/FDA)
- Experience with optical inspection tools (Keyence, Micro-Vu)
- Metrology or precision measurement background
