Title: CNC Machinist- Mill (Advanced)

Location: Houston, TX - Night Shift

Duration: Full-Time

Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders, or Authorized to Work in the US


Summary:

We are seeking several experienced CNC Machinists specializing in Mill operations to join our direct client. These roles requires G-Code setup, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to optimize machining processes for efficiency and accuracy. Candidates with 5+ years of CNC machining experience and a strong understanding of G-code programming are encouraged to apply. Night Shift needed 6pm-6am Monday- Thursday with overtime offered!


Responsibilities:

  • Create basic to moderately complex G-code programs at the work center without assistance.
  • Assist other operators in troubleshooting and resolving setup issues.
  • Modify features of parts and select alternate tooling to optimize performance.
  • Independently set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills, producing first-piece parts with minimal supervision.
  • Install required tooling based on part programs and provided instructions.
  • Configure jaws, vices, and fixtures for accurate workholding, setting correct offsets.
  • Evaluate cutting conditions and optimize feeds and speeds for efficiency.
  • Follow routed instructions to ensure all parts meet quality and production standards.
  • Identify and replace dull/broken tools, adjusting offsets to resume production.
  • Strive to maintain 100% of the routed production rate or better.
  • Maintain a quality standard of no more than 2 INCRs per quarter.
  • Complete all required documentation, including routers, inspection sheets, and maintenance requests.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC lathe and/or mill operations, G-code programming, and shop math.
  • Forklift safety training is desired but not required.
  • Proficiency in G-code programming and understanding code execution.
  • Ability to convert between inches/metric and fractions/decimals.
  • Strong industrial drawing interpretation and ability to set up parts correctly.
  • Experience measuring with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and thread gauges.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for setup and performance optimization.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Machine shop environment.
  • Ability to stand for at least 4 hours at a time.
  • Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
